Toxic Smell

Location: Donahue St & Innes Ave San Francisco, CA 94124
Category: Air
Description:
In the middle of Donahue Street and Innes Ave, the construction workers were pouring a chemical material that did not seem like asphalt. Whatever was being released into the air started to burn my eyes and had a very strong chemical smell-it didn't smell like tar or cement.

Description:
Hello, our inspector investigated on 11/30 and did observe the ongoing work at the location described. There was asphalt road repaving work occurring where the asphalt had been ground earlier in the day. He stated that the combination odors from the grinded asphalt, water and steam could have resembled a chemical smell earlier in the day. No other work or chemicals appeared to be in use at the site.
