Description:
There is Illegal burning of hazardous materials, illegal waste dumping, and all of this is being done near the waterfront around native birds and other native plants and animals. We have uploaded two photos of the various ongoing problems happening in Yosemite Slough in both the north and south parts of the slough channel. This is an ongoing problem in the Bayview and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Thank You.

Thank you for submitting this complaint - the issue of illegal dumping, and especially around Yosemite Slough - has come up often at IVAN Environmental Justice Task Force meetings. We are working towards understanding the different state agencies responsible for the problem. Illegal dumping is one of the agenda items at our next Task Force meeting, on Wednesday December 16, 2015, from 2-4 pm, at the Alex Pitcher room in the Southeast Community Center. Please join us for this discussion!

On behalf of the task force I am forwarding this serious complaint to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Description:
The Air District does respond to illegal burning - but we can only cite a person when we catch them in the act either burning on their own property or if they provide us with their identification information. This makes it difficult for our inspectors to enforce illegal burning at night on public lands. This complaint may be best handled by the Fire Department and Police Department. We often use Fire Department reports to cite burners. Also, do we know who owns the land on which this is occurring?
